At Savannah Oyster Company, our tour takes you into the tidal marshes where our oysters are grown. Enter the waterways of coastal Georgia and learn how sustainable aquaculture protects our waterways while producing oysters defined by their distinctive merroir — the flavor of our tides, marshes, and Atlantic waters.

Reserve Your Tour

Because we’re a working farm, we keep things simple, with one special tour each week on Friday mornings. The private tour begins at our dock, where oysters arrive daily from the water and head to restaurants throughout the South. From there, we cruise through the tidal marsh on our 25’ carolina skiff to the farm where you’ll learn about the life cycle of oysters, the environment they are grown in, and see how we use innovative cage-farming methods to grow strong, flavorful oysters shaped by Savannah’s unique tides. The tour blends hands-on learning with unforgettable scenery capped off with a tasting of the oysters you just explored upon return to our dock.

Duration

Tours last approximately 3 hours. Our tours leave the dock promptly at 10:00am and 2:00pm Fridays. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure. 

Cost

Private oyster farm tours are $600 and are limited to 6 people to keep the experience comfortable, personal and engaging. Less than 6 people? No problem! The cost is for a private tour, up to 6 people.

What to Wear

Lightweight, SPF clothing you don’t mind getting a bit muddy or wet; closed-toe shoes; and a sun hat.

What to Bring

Curiosity and a camera for the marsh views. Reef-safe sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended. Water, ice and coolers are provided. 

Weather Policy

Tours are weather-dependent. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule. We operate in light rain unless otherwise arranged.

Cancellations & Refunds

All purchases are non-refundable. With at least 24 hours’ notice, you may transfer your booking to another guest. Weather-related interruptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis with alternative options.
